About the Manifesto
During the SoFar project (http://sofar.unipi.it), we organised some national and EU platforms debating on social farming and the organisazion of its pathways of change across Europe.
During the German platform, invited local stakeholders proposed the idea of a Manifesto (position paper) that would address the topic to external people. A first draft of the manifesto was prepared by the collegue Thomas Van Elsen and debated with stakeholders in Germany.
The proposal was extended to the other SoFar partners who translated an English version into national languages for the national discussion.
A first feedback was organised during the Modena meeting in the last few months when a COST meeting was connected to a national Italian meeting. During the Modena meeting many changes were made to the previous document according with different national views and arriving to a more concise version. The Manifesto that you can download here is the final result of this process.
During the first afternoon of our CoP meeting in Pisa, a panel has been organised in order to facilitate the discussion on the document with invited stakeholders. In the same time there will be the opportunity for all CoP participants to intervene on the document, already before the meeting addressing their opinion to Thomas van Elsen (the e-mail address is on the manifesto) as well as during the panel.
The idea is to arrive at a final shared document to offer to invited stakeholders during the afternoon of the third day and to have at the end of the Pisa CoP a shared document across the CoP.
We hope this process could find your approval and that you would actively partecipate to the process in order to arrive to a useful document able to communicate the concept of social farming accross Europe.
Best regards,
Francesco Di Iacovo
