About this website
This is the website of the International Community of Practice - Farming for Health. We are an international group of researchers and practitioners in the field of Green Care, Health Farms and other initiatives concerning special care in green environments. This website is being used as an archive and communication tool for the community.
What information can be found on this website?
This website includes information about our annual international CoP workshops and other events, all to be located in the archive.
Other information on this website includes:
- information about our members,
- inspiring stories about farming for health in practice,
- information about the progress of our community actions,
- information about initiatives and projects internationally and in various countries,
- a Forum to facilitate online discussions between CoP members
Who updates this website?
A team of web editors regularly updates various pages and uploads new documents to the website. Since there is quite a lot going on in Europe (and beyond) around the issue of green care and related topics, more volunteers for this job are very welcome. Especially more information about the status of green care in the various countries is very welcome. At this moment it is not possible for the small team of volunteers to keep track of all initiatives, but making these visible on this website would definately increase opportunities for (international) exchange and learning. Please contact one of the core group members if you want to become more active on this website.
(The community's core group is playing an active and stimulating role in keeping the website up to date, but also encourages others to submit any information (news, links, pictures or publications). More information about the core group can be found here.)

Who is hosting this website?
Since the start, this website has been hosted free of charge by ETC Foundation in the Netherlands. For the duration of one year (Feb2007 - Feb2008), ETC has received financial support from the Dutch ministery of agriculture (LNV) for hosting the website. ARSIA, the main organizer of the international CoP workshop of 2009 is covering the costs for the website in 2009.
To keep this website up and running in the future, more such resources are needed. Community members (and their institutions) are urgently invited to contribute financially or to provide suggestions regarding other sources of funding. This can be done for example by including the basic website costs in the budget for the annual international meetings, such as done in 2009.
Contact Dorine Rüter (ETC Foundation) or Aïde Roest (LEI - Wageningen UR) for more information or to share your suggestions.
