Request for support
This is a request for support. Without a larger group of members, their organisations and/or external donors contributing to the financial support of the website and online facilitation of the community, the website and online activities cannot be maintained as they are now.
The international CoP Farming for Health (FfH) is supported by the website www.farmingforhealth.org and an online mailing list. During the period of Feb 2007 – July 2008, the website and support to members regarding the use of this website, was financed by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture. This external funding has now stopped. At this moment, Dorine Ruter, Yvon D. Schuler and Aide Roest from the Netherlands are mostly facilitating the work on the website, all on a voluntary basis. Joe Sempik is running the mailing list. ETC Foundation has resumed financing the website as it did since it was developed several years ago.
Without a larger group of members, their organisations and/or external donors contributing to the financial support of the website and online facilitation of the community, the website and online activities cannot be maintained as they are now.
During the international workshop in Ghent in 2007 a workshop session was convened to discuss the future of the FfH website and online activities and how these may be financed in the coming years. The participating members requested an overview of various options was made to present to the community of practice. This document is a follow up on that request. It contains various options for continuing the website and online activities, as well as alternatives for financing the related costs (technical costs and fees). We would like to receive your input on the contents and your suggestions as how this CoP should (or should not) continue its online presence (external) and online interaction (internal). In case the continuation of the website - in whatever form - is opted for, we also invite you to provide suggestions and concrete leads regarding funding opportunities, based on the suggested alternatives for funding mentioned below, or any ways of funding not yet mentioned in this document.
